On one of my morning photography strolls I came upon this gondolier who was busy doing something on his cell phone. His relaxed position, sitting beneath the green umbrella and his head cocked down provided just the right shot.

I am drawn to the light, to color, texture and shapes, and to stories told in the images I shoot. Whether I am looking out my window at storm clouds rolling in, walking in the arboretum or along a canal in Venice, I am aroused by and driven to capture the essence in the images I see. So it begins, always exploring, looking beyond what I see at first glance, into the nuances, the patterns and play of light.
